- 1980 startete Gaby Cerny ihre ersten Gesangsversuche im Alter von 4 Jahren mit Liedern aus dem Schlagerbereich zu Hause im kleinen Studio ihres Papa’s Karl Cerny. Der begnadete Musiker ist Gitarrist und von Jugend an regelmäßig mit Bands auf Tour. Nachdem er Gaby’s Talent entdeckte, nahm er sie ab sofort auch zu seinen Live-Auftritten mit. So machte die Kleine schon sehr früh ihre Bühnenerfahrung und konnte diese ab diesem Zeitpunkt auch immer weiter ausbauen.
- 1987 hatte Gaby Cerny ihren ersten Fernsehauftritt mit echtem Pony und dem Lied „Mein Pony und ich“ bei der Nachwuchssendung „Wie die Alten sungen, so zwitschern auch die Jungen“, moderiert von Karl Moik. Im selben Jahr folgten noch zwei weitere Fernsehauftritte in je zwei Sendungen des Musikantenstadls, wo sie ihre Fans mit ihrem heiteren Gemüt und ihrer entzückenden Stimme begeisterte. Weiterer Höhepunkt in diesem Jahr war der erste Plattenvertrag und Studioaufnahmen für ein Album mit Kinderschlagern.
- 1990 folgten Aufnahmen eines weiteren Albums mit dem Titel „Teenager Träume“ mit deutschen Schlagern.
- 1991 war Gaby Cerny Gewinnerin bei der Vorausscheidung der „Krone der Volksmusik“ mit dem Lied „Tschiki Tischiki“ aus ihrem Album „Teenager Träume“. Dies war sozusagen das Ticket für die gleichnamige Fernsehsendung, in der sie das Publikum zum Jubeln brachte. Es folgten weitere TV-Auftritte beim ORF in einigen Kinder- und Jugendsendungen, der Sendung „Willkommen Österreich“ sowie bei „Licht ins Dunkel“ und viele mehr.
- 1992 nahm sie im Studio ihr nächstes Album mit zeitgemäßen deutschen Schlagern auf, welches den Namen „Ich will den Ölscheich als Mann“ trägt.
- Seit Beginn ihrer Gesangskarriere ist Gaby Cerny immer wieder auf Konzerten und Touren mit Live-Auftritten zu sehen und zu hören. Im Laufe der Jahre hat sich ihr Repertoire stark erweitert, denn die erfahrene Sängerin ist nach wie vor mit voller Begeisterung und Liebe zum Gesang in einem breit gefächerten musikalischen Gebiet unterwegs. Einerseits erobert sie mit ihrer natürlichen und charmanten Art die Herzen von Jung und Alt, andererseits bringt sie ihr Publikum zum Staunen, wenn sie auf der Bühne so „ordentlich Gas gibt“.
- 2018 brachte Gaby Cerny mit dem Country-Song „Travellin‘ Cowboy“ (Musik & Text Peter Jordan) vom neu erschienenen Sampler „We remember Ernie Oldfield“ frischen Wind in ihre Musikkarriere. Zu diesem Song wurde auch ein Video produziert, welches auf YouTube veröffentlicht wurde.
- 2019 wurde gemeinsam mit Karl Cerny und Josef Reichl im „Vienna Soundstudio“ eine weitere CD aufgenommen. Auf dieser CD sind sowohl eigens komponierte Instrumental-Songs, gespielt von Karl Cerny auf der Gitarre, als auch zwei von Gaby Cerny selbst geschriebene und gesungene Lieder zu hören. Ihre Titel „Flug ins Paradies“ und „Leg dei Handy weg“.
